I would also consider buying a Formul Ford 1600. It is a competitive class and the cars do nor depreciate as they get older.
As for the bike engined classes I would suggest a Force PC if you can find one. Equally at home in 1100, 1600 and the 2 litre forced induction class.

Re: Scammonden dam 26th July cancelled.
I passed by Scammy Dam on Sunday en route to Harewood. It looked scorched and might possibly done as a precaution to prevent another moorland fire.

Channel Island bounce
After a disasterous engine failure at Harewood Tom New had a race against time to install the spare engine into Wallace Menzies' Gould. Somehow when the car arrived in the far flung Channel Islands it was immediately on the pace. Two wins for Menzies at Bouley Bay started to close the gap to the top ...

Barbon Manor 11th July 2026
Barbon Manor was bathed in sunshine when I arrived and after a swift recce round the paddock, I headed up the hill to my vantage point overlooking the finish. After a single practice run we were ready for a blistering hot day of class records and Personal Bests (PBs).

Re: Using a 2wd pickup truck
I understand "commercial vehicles" are not allowed in Speed Events (hillclimbs & Sprints).
I have seen Land Rovers competing in Rally Car classes but they have been fully enclosed versions.

John, you are correct, the Bo'ness event is a Classic & Historic event. Your Jedi is too young to enter.

Re: Bo'ness event
John, the Bo'ness event is organised by a small group of enthusiasts. They might not be in "spectator mode" at present. Don't give up on them!
Were you just going to spectate or were you considering competing?

Barbon Manor 13th June 2026 - a report
Barbon Manor showed its windswept face as the unrelenting gale swept across the Westmorland hillside. Despite the weather the track conditions and occasional sunny spells led to a plethora of Personal Best (PB) Times. After just one practice run we moved seamlessly into the competition runs.

Re: New Shelsley Record!
Will shaved just 0.04 seconds off the record but IF conditions are favourable in August it could possibly be lowered into the 21 second bracket.
There were several class records reset as well and agan if conditions are favourable more could fall in August.
