Was just watching a video and it went into a usual YouTube rabbit warren of random videos. It ended up with the Brighton speed trials. I know Damian and the legacy have gone very quick there but wondered about other single seaters etc from the hillclimb world that have done a non prepped 1/4 mile? There is a video of a Gould up in Scotland doing a 1/4 mile but I would be interested in times for single seater hillclimb cars. Maybe without wing etc. I’ve always wondered what a 1 litre car would do, as they run out of puff at about 80 on acceleration compared to the bigger engines. V8 would be interesting in comparison to a high power turbo saloon

Brighton Speed Trials were held over various distances including 1/4 mile, in my Force SR4 (supercharged Bussa) I managed a 9.79 @ 146mph over the 1/4 which I was well chuffed with. Traction and bumps were a problem however. If you look up the results on the web you should find times for 1,100 cc cars.

Many years ago, my mate and I took our aincient bike engined formula fords up the drag at Crail whilst evaluating the "drift ring" for possible sprint venue ( it didn't become one).
We both set approx 12 seconds shocking the locals with their GTRs etc.

Chivenor sprint has a timed 1/4 of a mile before the first corner, they do class awards for the fastest 1/4 and I think there is an award for fastest 1/4 overall.
2024 the Jedi 998cc did 11.63 at 114mph
2025 DSP 1300cc did 11.76 at 116mph through the speed trap.
This year we are taking the megapin in the 1100cc class.
