Taydec MK4 Hillclimb, Sprint or750MC circuit car -1985
This Taydec Mk4 is 1 of 9 built by John Suckling in 1985 which was based on the 1970 Taydec MK2 Prototype race car. The Mk4 uses body moulds from that Mk2 car.
The Taydec MK4 It was further developed in 2002 with the help of Andy Hiley and successfully raced by John Suckling in the Sports Racing & GT Challenge, in the early 2000’s in the 750 Motor Club scene – successfully winning Class 'D' and then Class 'C'.
Currently the car is offered as a rolling chassis with engine mounts, driveshafts and wiring to suit a C20XE 2.0l 16V Vauxhall redtop engine mated to a Renault NG3 gearbox. This is a simple ‘bolt in’ engine and gearbox configuration. However, the rolling chassis could accommodate a motorcycle engine such as a Suzuki Hayabusa or GSXR 1000 etc. The car is currently based at Empire Racing Cars near Taunton, Somerset and they specialise in motorcycle engine conversions – they can carry out all necessary work for any interested owners.
The car comes with two sets of wheels on Advan A048 tyres along with HTP papers (Historical Technical Passport).
A very simple project to revert back to a full race-ready car by C20XE engine and Renault NG3 gearbox, or alternatively an inexpensive starting point for a bike engined competition car.
Eligible for : -
750 MC Sports Special Championship Class A
CSCC Races
Hillclimbing and Sprinting (may require a motorsport logbook being applied for which should be straightforward with use of the HTP papers).
Asking price £4250
Empire Racing Cars are happy to transport the car on a trailer at cost.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
