Using a 2wd pickup truck

Hi i know its not exactly an ideal race car but would an older 2wd ford ranger be allowed to compete in hill climbs? I know it wouldnt be competative but i do think it would be good fun

Probably better as a tow truck for your race car?

I understand "commercial vehicles" are not allowed in Speed Events (hillclimbs & Sprints).
I have seen Land Rovers competing in Rally Car classes but they have been fully enclosed versions.
